Events and Happenings: The First Pillar 5 Day Promo and Rick Yancey Signing

From The Author

I have recently been in contact with a phenomenal author who has asked me to put the world out on his most recently released book. Roy Huff is one of the most open and honest writers I have had the priveledge of intereacting with. he deserves every ounce of recognition he can get. I am in the process of reading his book that he sent to me as an ebook. I will eventually have the review up along with quite a few others I have accepted for review. He has recently messaged me on Goodreads (my home away from home) and asked that I let everyon know about his Free 5 Day Kindle Promo on Amazon May 12th - 16th. Here is the synopsis from Goodreads for the book "The First Pillar" of the Everville series. If interested, show the author some love on Goodreads or take part in his promo. I know how it feels to be new to the game and trying to find a following. This is me doing my part to promote a book I strongly believe is worth reading.

Title: The First Pillar

Author: Roy Huff

Series: Everville #1

Owen Sage is the emblematic college freshman at Easton Falls University. He studies hard, plays hard, and is incredibly charming. With all the worries about his first year in college, he was not prepared for what would come next. His way of life was flipped upside down when he was drawn into a different world, a world unbeknowst to him. He mysteriously crossed into another dimension, into the beautiful land of Everville. His tragic excitement was abruptly halted when he discovered that there was darkness forged against both the natural world, which he knew well, and the new land when he discovered, Everville. He must devise a plan to save both worlds while joining forces with the race of Fron and The Keepers, whom both harbor hidden secrets he must learn in order to gain power over the evil that dwells in The Other In Between.

With a race against time to save both worlds, his short time at Easton Falls did not quite prepare him for the evil, dark forces he must fight in order to conquer The Other In Between.

Rick Yancey Book Signing

I just got home from a book signing for Rick Yancey's "The 5th Wave" and it was an experience. He is such an amazing speaker. He had me quite literally on the edge of my seat while he described his viewpoints on aliens, which, if you have read the book or synopsis, you well know is the basis of his new book. He was personable and a real down-to-earth individual. Since I had forgotten my camera at home (sad face) I did not get a picture of myself with Rick Yancey but I did take a picture of the book and signature:

Title: The 5th Wave

Author: Rick Yancey

Series: The 5th Wave #1

The Passage meets Ender's Game in an epic new series from award-winning author Rick Yancey.

After the 1st wave, only darkness remains. After the 2nd, only the lucky escape. And after the 3rd, only the unlucky survive. After the 4th wave, only one rule applies: trust no one.

Now, it's the dawn of the 5th wave, and on a lonely stretch of highway, Cassie runs from Them. The beings who only look human, who roam the countryside killing anyone they see. Who have scattered Earth's last survivors. To stay alone is to stay alive, Cassie believes, until she meets Evan Walker. Beguiling and mysterious, Evan Walker may be Cassie's only hope for rescuing her brother--or even saving herself. But Cassie must choose: between trust and despair, between defiance and surrender, between life and death. To give up or to get up.

The book trailer for The 5th Wave. Mr. Yancey informed us that the book has already been opted for a movie. How great is that?!

So there you have it. Had to do a little promoting for some amazing authors. What do y'all think of either or both books?

  2. He was so fun. His whole talk was on whether others thought there was actually life on other planets. I am in the mindset that it's selfish and arrogant of us to believe we are the only intelligent life in the ENTIRE universe. I told him as much and he loved it. :)

  4. I actually had no idea that he had also written the Monstrumologist series until he talked about it at the signing. I was all sad faced because I could have gotten those books for him to sign too! But yes, he was an amazing speaker. Very personable and down-to-earth. I could have listened to him speak all day.
